MARTYRDOM IS THE EIGHTH DEADLY SIN
9.11.2001 Was a beautiful clear day in New York City. The breeze had blown away any thought of the humid summer days that were soon to pass. It was one of those days where it seemed nothing could go wrong, until the unbelievable happened.
As letter carriers at the Canal Street Post Office, we were able to leave our work stations in small groups to view the fiery gaping whole in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Thinking it was just some terrible freak of an accident, we went back to work.
When we heard of the second plane ramming into the South Tower, it became painfully obvious that we were under attack. After a time we were allowed to clock out to make our way home.
I told my coworker John that I really didn't want to leave my car parked on North Moore Street, and we walked back to retrieve it. As we approached North Moore Street, the north tower of the World Trade Center collapsed right in front of our eyes.
MARTYRDOM IS THE EIGHTH DEADLY SIN! MARTYRDOM IS NOT THE PATHWAY TO HEAVEN ~ MARTYRDOM IS THE GATEWAY TO OBLIVION!! tmp
